Here at Glassdrumman Lodge it would be our plesure to organise any activity that you wish for, The Newry and Mourne is renowned for its natural beauty and offerings of culture, tradition, folklore and haritage. Below I have listed the things to do come rain or shine, Then at the bottom of the page you will find links to a host of activities.

Ten Things to do - In the Rain

1. Relax in a seaweed bath at Soak in Newcastle, Soak offers hot salt water and steamed seaweed baths.                

2. Choose a book or game from our library and curl up in front of the fire.                                                

3. Taste a selection of Bushmills Irish whiskey in the drawing room.                                                                             

4. Watch a movie, we have DVD players and DVD’s available at reception.                                                               

5. Take “The Mountain Drive” starting and finishing right here on the Mill road.  (20 Irish miles)                      

6. Have a pint of Guinness in the Harbour Inn with Sam Hamilton the owner.                                                          

7. Let Jonny develop your cooking skills at the Mourne Seafood Cookery School.                                                  

8. Take a walk under the canopy of trees in Tollymore Forest Park and see if you can find the hermitage.  

9. Visit St Patricks Visitor Centre for a great interactive exhibition and craft shop.

10. Visit the Cathedral of St Patrick & St Colman built in 1829 the first catholic Cathedral.                       

Ten Things to do - In the Sun (well, no rain :-))

1. Order Champagne and Strawberries to enjoy on the lawn.                                                                   

2. Climb any of the Mourne Mountains; Slieve Donard at 850m is the highest peak in Northern Ireland.       

3. Go for a walk up to Dinnywater through Annalong Wood (4 Miles there and back).                                  

4. Visit Annalong Harbour one of Ireland’s most picturesque.                                                                   

5. Walk the “Mourne Wall” which start and finish near Silent Valley.                                                          

6. Visit Silent Valley with its beautiful parkland and pond also walk up to the reservoirs.                            

7. Go for a round of golf at the world famous Royal County Down Golf Course.                                       

8. The Head Road Cycling Route, 16 Miles of great scenery starting and finishing in Kilkeel.                    

9. Go Horse riding at the Mourne Trail Riding Centre, fantastic trail riding through Tollymore Forest Park.    

10. Visit Castle Ward – A beautiful 820 acre walled estate on the shores of Strangford Lough.
