History

Glassdrumman Lodge was first built in the late 1800’s, then only a two bedroom cottage and  known as Heathery Hill Farm. In the 1960’s the farm was bought over by the wealthy McGuiness family who under took its' first renovation. The property was well known because of the lake which was used for sailing model boats. Patrons from as far as Belfast would travel down to the farm using the now closed railway line.

Heathery Hill Farm was purchased by my family in 1980 and for five years it was not only our family home but also a farm where we bred Aberdeen Angus cattle. In 1985 we renovated the house into a 10 bedroom country house and in 1986 Glassdrumman Lodge was born to accommodate golfers, walkers and holidaymakers alike.

After 25 years of guests, from leading politicians to iconic sports personalities, young stars of the future and gracefully ageing couples, the Hall families’ single aim remains, to create an enjoyable environment for relaxation and reflection, with good food and great service.
